Stage 2 in painting, “Two birds in a bush”

I’ve been back in the studio and working on my painting. The inspiration for this painting came from a drawing I did while on vacation. It reminded me of the saying, “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.” The meaning of is, It’s better to have a small real advantage than the possibility of a greater one. The origin of this proverb refers back to mediaeval falconry where a bird in the hand (the falcon) was a valuable asset and certainly worth more than two in the bush (the prey). SOURCE
