After so many years of blogging I decided it was time to archive my content in some way. After trying and failing at several options, I settled in blog2print. I was able create year length archive books – the PDF book includes a cover, index, list of posts, and back page.
After creating and downloading the PDF books I then uploaded them to my wordpress site. I did this so that I could use the Readmill widget in WordPress. Readmill allows blog readers to send the content as a book to their mobile device – iPhone or iPad. After creating an account with Facebook login, I had to add my author and title information after downloading each eBook, I added in my cover images using the website (could not add them on the mobile app).
I keep my blog mostly for personal use. It’s been an effort to index my random creative actives – in the hope that some insight about my artistic voice will come from the process. I know have about 5 years of my process archived. It feels like a turning point for me creatively – a transition from light experimentation into specific presentation.
I have expanded my journaling process to include a 3rd step:
- Blogging in the moment (me) – random and creative
- Getting inspiration for new work from blog (anyone) – random / anytime
- Archiving my work in an eBook annually (me)
