I recently participated in a holiday PopUp shop in Carpinteria CA. It was a beautiful day and the location was right near the beach so I could not have asked for a better place to work. There were about a dozen vendors who gathered near the local brewery with a steady flow of local customers who came to check out the scene. It really felt like a community event and I was happy to participate.
I also got to color a little with pencils. My set up was very creative as the market featured local and handmade items. There are a lot of these types of markets during the holiday season and I’m a big fan of their creative community vibe.
I was selling my new deck of cards called Original Odyssey. It was entertaining to play with people all afternoon from a variety of ages. My first player were between the ages of 5 and 10. We invented a few variations on poker and go fish. Later in the day I handed out memory challenges to many. The challenge was to pick a card from the deck and try to remember what it was at the end of the day before you go to bed.
