Started two new paintings tonight. The images of bothersome birds and fairy nest are based on dream images. I’ve been reading Jung’s Red Book and feeling inspired to explore my own darker nature or shadow self in art.
The birds are transformed from three sequential nightmares of figures that I choose to explore through the feelings of bird images: devouring prey, chasing prey, ignoring viewer.
Here is a quote about the next from my dream journal: Walking in a toy store and finding a branch with twists and turns and a fairy form that shifted from shadow to light depending on the color of the branch.
